Yūgao’s nurse
Having lost track of Yūgao when Genji took her away, this nurse in time moved to Tsukushi (modern-day Kyūshū) as wife to the Dazaifu Assistant (Dazai no Shōni). She took Yūgao’s young daughter (Tamakazura) with her.
Dazai no Shōni (The Dazaifu Assistant)
The husband of Yūgao’s nurse.
The Bungo Deputy
This is the eldest son of the Dazaifu Assistant (Dazai no Shōni) by Yūgao’s nurse.
Hyōbu (Ateki)
Yūgao’s nurse’s younger daughter. She accompanies her mother and Tamakazura to the capital.
